Matthew & Daniel | Woodland Park Rose Garden & Zoo Wedding

CiccarelliPhotography_0312

Their day was perfect. It started off with a relaxed morning, just the two of them, as they prepared to marry the love of their life, each other.

A hop and a skip later they were in the garden, where they’d walked many times together before, but this walk would be special. It was a short stroll towards one another, at the same moment, holding onto their parents elbows, meeting in the middle. As guests listened to their promises, flowers swayed in the wind, birds chirped overhead and a fountain quietly gurgled nearby. It was the most perfect setting to promise their hearts forever.

The day was hardly finished after their rose garden ceremony because just around the corner a surprise guest was waiting for their party near the reception. An owl greeted guests into the zoo, closed for their private event, and even the penguins celebrated with flips as Matthew & Daniel strolled by on their way to celebrate. An epic dance party ensued, with nearly every guest making a strong appearance on the dance floor. Daniel & Matthew were all smiles as they danced the night away, the first of many days they’d spend as husbands.

Daniel & Matthew, thank you for the huge honor of capturing your wedding day! We truly loved every moment and hope these photos help you relive the day forever. ~ Erik & Marissa

Katie & Joe | Salish Lodge Wedding

The day had finally arrived! It all started with a sunset walk on a visit to campus, where they’d met. Joe made reservations at their favorite restaurant, the spot of their very first date. As they walked and reminisced before dinner he popped the question to her resounding YES!

They made plans to marry in Seattle and wanted a place that seemed very PNW for all their out of town guests. Salish Lodge was the perfect match and they were blessed with blue skies and roaring falls. That morning as Katie read her many-page note from him, she had happy tears in her eyes, which only made her smile even brighter as she walked in her lace-up heels (perfectly fitted for a dancer of course) to meet him. He waited until the church to secretly read his note so that he wouldn’t be emotional for photos (but we caught him anyway), and was ear to ear smiling as Katie met him at the end of the aisle. We’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you that they had the most amazing first dance, but we expected nothing less from a dancer!

What a perfect day for a perfect couple! Thank you Katie & Joe, your day was so full of special moments and we loved capturing them all. ~Erik & Marissa

Baby CJ | Seattle Newborn Photographer

Amid all the hustle and bustle of wedding season it felt like such a precious day to visit baby CJ, slow down, cuddle this soft little newbie, and capture his new parents doting and kissing all up on him.

He didn’t fall asleep once, until the moment I had packed up everything to go of course, but his little expressions and open eyes made us all giggle and love him even more.

Michelle & Adam, you two already make wonderful parents. Cannot wait to see CJ grow and you all morph as a family. Thank you for letting me capture your first moments together. ~Marissa

Samantha & Igor | Westland Distillery Wedding

CiccarelliPhotography_0235

Their day was nothing short of magical, which is exactly how they’d planned it. These two Harry Potter fanatics decided to subtly add little details to show their love of the wizarding world, which was accented perfectly by their choice of venue, Westland Distillery.

Igor was so ecstatic to see his bride for their first look. As she kissed his hands and he stared wide-eyed at her the feelings sunk in that their day had finally arrived. Guests were seated to the Harry Potter theme song and Samantha walked arm in arm with both of her parents down the barrel-filled aisle, laughing as she told guest to be seated (a small detail her brother had forgotten to say). Their love filled the high ceilings and just like the famous great hall they dined with their favorite people, wands at the ready.

Samantha & Igor, your magical day was a complete thrill to capture! You two seemed so grateful and full of celebration for this day and we couldn’t be happier for you both! ~Erik & Marissa

Exciting Announcement…Round 2!

CiccarelliPhotography_0220

Oh boy…or girl, we are so thrilled to announce that our little family will be growing early 2018! Bryce is super pumped (although he doesn’t know it yet) to train another member of our photography team. We have no idea what we’re in for with two little tykes, but we’re certainly excited to find out!

CiccarelliPhotography_0217

How Bryce probably really feels about all this…

CiccarelliPhotography_0218

Certainly the parents of 1+ kiddos out there can attest to the fact that having your first baby is this tremendous occasion. We felt everything from pure joy to extreme anxiety, not knowing what to expect. This pregnancy has been a totally different experience. There’s the fact that we’re chasing around a toddler and have less time to think about the new little baby we’re growing (honestly we haven’t even talked about names yet!). We’re still pretty tired, haha, since Bryce isn’t the worlds best sleeper (wasn’t that supposed to end after the newborn stage?!?) so we don’t have too much extra brain power to even worry about the things we worried about when we were first pregnant. There’s also this calm that you at least half know what you’re getting into. Of course every pregnancy, birth and baby is different so we’re not super confident we know what’s going to happen, but we’ve at least been there before so there are fewer questions at the doctor’s office, no hospital visit, less frantic google searches about pregnancy symptoms (seriously every symptom is normal or at least has been felt before by some pregnant woman out there, even when it doesn’t seem to be normal).

Although our baby story didn’t begin how we’d planned yet again (does it ever?), we know how many people struggle with infertility problems and we feel lucky to be bringing another being into the world.

CiccarelliPhotography_0215

Some interesting things we’ve noticed with round #2 that we thought we’d share…

How does this pregnancy compare? It’s 100% completely different. I expected to know how my body would handle a pregnancy, but whoa was I incorrect! Everything I remember from round 1 hasn’t happened this time and many symptoms I read about and felt lucky I never felt are here this round.

How did you find out? We were actually trying to plan around wedding season as crazy as that sounds! We didn’t want to be giving birth during someone’s wedding so we were trying for a winter baby and found out with a test in June that we’d finally become pregnant.

Was it a surprise? Nope, we had been planning on giving Bryce a sibling and feel so lucky that we were able to!

Will you find out the sex? Yes, we’ll know this September so just a month to go until we know! This will help us actually start thinking of names once we know 50% of them are out.

How do you feel? Much better now that we’re in the second trimester! Way less tired and sick (oh first trimester you were no fun).

Any weird cravings? Last time it was tomato soup and peanut butter, but this time I could eat a carb for every meal if I wasn’t so worried about losing all the weight after baby’s arrival!

We are so happy to begin another adventure together, as parents of two and are so thankful to all of you who have supported us with congratulations, advice, and love. ~Erik & Marissa

Bryce is practicing being a big brother already (and Erik trained him to say “big brother” if you ever ask him, it’s pretty cute!) carrying around his baby, taking him for walks in the stroller and playing hi some guitar music.
