Nicole & Alan | Ballard Engagement Session

For several years they’d seen each other at different get-togethers, but not really met. Finally, on her 21st birthday they were introduced by mutual friends, but he lived in Denver so neither thought about starting a relationship. After graduating Alan moved back home to Seattle and into his own place in Fremont. It just so happened that Nicole was living only 2 blocks away and a random house party of their mutual friends had them meeting back up again. This time it was as if the stars had finally aligned in their favor. Alan asked her out and a relationship now 10 years in the making is leading to their upcoming wedding next summer!

We are so looking forward to spending that special day with you two! ~Erik & Marissa

Baby Chick Update

It’s official, we’ve made it to the 3rd trimester and our baby boy is growing fast!

2015-09-15_001

Frequently Asked Questions…

Are you ready to be parents?

Is anyone ever really ready? We’re as ready as we can be and will just roll with the punches as they come. Erik still needs to learn to change a diaper…

Does he have a name?

Baby boy chick is still unnamed, but we have our top 3 choices and are just going to wait to see his face to decide!

Is the nursery done?

Almost! We fell in love with a few artists on Etsy and went wild decorating his room with fun prints and salvaged frames.

How do you feel?

Well, Erik has been having some mild pregnancy symptoms like tiredness and pregnancy brain (he keeps putting things in the microwave instead of the fridge). Luckily I had 6 months of an easy pregnancy thanks to my inherited genes, but now that baby’s growing so quickly I’m definitely feeling more tired and a little strain on my back. The weirdest thing to happen is that my ears keep getting clogged so I feel deaf 2-3 times a day! And the worst thing to happen is pregnancy insomnia (it’s real people). I’m fully awake at 3am sometimes for several hours, but I keep thinking maybe it will be helpful having practice being awake at night once baby boy comes!

Any cravings?

After my tomato soup faze I definitely loved cheese. Now I’m off both of those things and am loving peanut butter and jelly on toast with a glass of almond milk (even though I haven’t eaten peanut butter in almost 3 years!).

We are so excited to meet our little guy! It seems like we are in the final lap, sprinting towards the finish line quicker than we thought was possible.

Thank you to all of our friends, family, and clients who have been so incredibly supportive and happy for us! ~Erik & Marissa

Cindy Lawrence - Congratulations! You look amazing. Enjoy the time where you get whatever sleep you can. You’ll soon enough realize that nothing can preprare you for all those instant wake ups multiple times a night. But you will have that sweet little baby boy and it’s all worth it.

Kristin & Nick | Kerry Park & Discovery Park Engagement

Kristin had moved to Seattle on a whim. She needed a change of pace, an adventure. Two years in she was thinking of moving back home because she missed her family and hadn’t found anything to really anchor her to Seattle. Just at the time she began job searching a cute guy named Nick found her online dating profile and decided to match his to hers so she’d take notice. Kristin liked his photo and he reached out for that first date, the one where sparks fly.

Meeting Nick completely halted Kristin’s decision to leave Seattle. She had found her anchor, the person she wanted to share her life with, right here in the city she randomly moved to for adventure. We know this is one life adventure she’ll never forget.

Thanks Kristin & Nick, for having such sweetness between you and for letting us capture it all! ~Erik & Marissa

Catherine & Brian | Freeway Park Engagement

She took the job at Starbucks to make some extra spending money for school. One of her coworkers was this nice guy who happened to be in a class with her at UW. After meeting they decided to become study buddies. Quickly Catherine & Brian became best friends over study sessions, pouring coffee and making each other laugh. When the quarter ended they decided to keep taking classes together and their friendship brewed into love.

Catherine & Brian thanks for sharing this moment during your engagement with us! We cannot wait for the wedding. ~Erik & Marissa

Cheyen & Michael | The Edgewater House Wedding

2015-09-01_009

“It’s the one day I get to make you all wear heels!” squealed Cheyen, surrounded by her 9 bridesmaids. Cheyen, lover of sparkles, dressing up, and wearing high heels (and we mean high, like 4 inches!) was in heaven getting made into the belle of the ball with her nearest and dearest on her wedding day.

All dressed up in her fantastically sparkled gown she met Michael by the beach with wind in her hair and sun on her face, soaking in their first look and a few quiet moments before promising their hearts to each other. And promise they did between tears and the passing of tissues from both the best man and maid of honor. Michael dried her tears in his first act as caring husband and swept Cheyen down the aisle as her huge smile broke free, the two of them full of love, ready to celebrate.

Thank you Cheyen & Michael, for all the love and support you show to each other. We loved being part of each tear, each sparkle, all 10 sets of high heels, and every special moment of your wedding day. ~Erik & Marissa
