Dana, Josh & Spot | Gasworks Park Engagement

Here’s the story of how Spot became a model.

It happened by chance, like most talented models who are spotted on the street or at a Wendy’s. His parents, Dana & Josh, scheduled their engagement session with us for a gorgeous fall sunset session, but what would happen? Josh tore his achilles playing flag football a few weeks beforehand. We got really creative with cropping during their session (see HERE) and Josh was a huge sport, walking around a field and in sand with his crutches and cast. Still, since it wasn’t a true Ciccarelli Photography engagement session experience we decided to meet back up this spring for a quick-no-cast-or-crutches session. Spot, the dog, came along since he felt left out last time and BOOM, a model was born.

And that’s the story of how Spot became a model. (Oh and he has an Instagram account if you want to follow him @spot_the_frenchie)

Spot is a total natural…

He wasn’t too thrilled with mom’s lipstick stain on his cheek.

The moment Spot tried his over-the-shoulder-pose.

All joking aside, we are thrilled to watch this couple get married and grow their family in the future!

Patti & Paul | Discovery Park Baby Announcement

Patti was so excited to find out she was pregnant that she called to schedule her photo session almost right away! We were thrilled to capture such a special moment in her and Paul’s life. Not only would this photo session be a way to share their happy news with their family and friends, but it also was their last time taking pictures just the two of them.

They both are looking forward to the big reveal when they’ll find out in front of close family if they’re having a girl or boy and then soon enough their little wee one will be joining the family. Congrats you two! We’re so excited that you’re going from a family of 2 to 3 with such joy between you. ~Erik & Marissa

Michelle & Tyler | Pike Place Market Engagement

When you get a call from a couple of Canadian cops, you drop everything to see what they need. In this case it was a photo session, here in Seattle, with a wedding to follow so needless to say we were delighted (not to be in trouble)!

Tyler started working in Michelle’s building after they both became police officers. The two became work friends and didn’t think much more about it until years later when they reconnected and their friendship turned into more. These best friends and soul mates know each other so well that when Michelle mentioned she loved sapphires (once!), Tyler stored it away and surprised her with a sapphire engagement ring when the timing was right. Obviously she said yes!

Michelle & Tyler you two really know how to cuff ’em! (see pics below) Thanks for having us be part of your love story. We cannot wait for the wedding! ~Erik & Marissa

We had to get some fun shots with these real handcuffs. So glad you brought this prop!

4 years fly by…

…so we make sure to spend it with people we love, doing things we love, and eating cake.

4 years ago today (5.7.11) we said our own vows, on the beach, listening to the waves. We spent a week in Mexico with people we love celebrating our love. We watched the sunset from our bride and groom table as we ate traditional Mexican cuisine and toasted with the best of people.

Our cake wasn’t sweet, nor were we able to fly any home for our 1 year anniversary, but we’ll never forget how we smeared icing on each others’ noses and laughed and laughed and laughed some more. We would repeat this happy night, and these amazing moments, a million times again if we could.

Cheers to love, marriage, and cake (hopefully sweeter and not eaten in 85 degree weather)! ~Erik & Marissa
