Happy Halloween! – The Ciccarellis

Happy Halloween! We love this holiday because it’s just fun. Usually we come up with outfits at the last minute, but every once in awhile they are well-thought out in advance thanks to friends. This year some friends decided to raid Erica’s old closet full of ice skating uniforms from her days as a professional back in high school. These early 90’s outfits were amazingly constructed by her mother. There were sparkly crystals, soft velvet, and outrageous patterns, not to mention lace and see-thru gauzy fabric. Yes, most people thought we were gymnasts from the recent summer olympics, but we had a great time anyway! Although we thought it would be great for Erik to join in and wear a uniform based on the movie Blades of Glory with Will Ferrell we decided it would take more than 24 hours and expertise sewing skills which neither of us possess. This meant he got to be our coach! We think he liked bossing us around.

We had to do individuals, it was too fun!

Colleen’s husband, Evan didn’t really match our outfits, but we thought it was such a funny costume we had to include it!

Happy Halloween!

Ferguson Family- Midwest Fall Fun | Worthington, Ohio

One of our friends, Elizabeth, and her husband Mike have such cute kids! We’ve been waiting for a chance to be back in Ohio to get together for some fun kid photos. With a 4 year old and a 19 month old Elizabeth and Mike have their hands full, but these kids are certainly fun! We chased after them, pushed swings, and walked through the trees. We were completely thrilled by the beautiful fall colors and the deserted park that Elizabeth chose, with contrasting mown lawn and wild forest growth side by side. Patrick was overjoyed to find stick after stick and Katherine showed us her amazing swing skills all by herself. Did we mention it was perfect timing too? An hour after our session it started to rain and didn’t let up all day!

Thank you Ferguson family!

Pay it Forward – Help us Give this Season | Seattle Photographers

We’ve always been inspired by people who are incredibly giving. We know it’s extremely important to help others and pay it forward whenever possible (or to give back when you’ve been helped yourself). In the spirit of giving we would like to gift a deserving family or couple a photography session.

If you know of someone who would benefit from a surprise please email us at: info@ciccarelliphotography.com  Please email us your special person nomination by this Wednesday, October 31st (Halloween!). We will be gifting one session in Seattle in November/December and one in Columbus, OH on Saturday, Dec. 22nd. (It’s possible we’ll be able to gift more based on the inquiries we receive so keep them coming!)

We believe in the ripple effect, even helping one person have a joyful day may spread happiness to others in ways we don’t even anticipate. Have a happy day!

Kim Family – Walking at the Beach | Point Defiance Park

Just another day at the beach! Except because it’s the Northwest people wear long sleeves & jeans and no one swims this time of year unless you have a wetsuit. Although we did see one lone seal enjoying a swim! We met the Kim family at Owen Beach in Point Defiance Park. If you’ve never been to Point Defiance, you must, it’s absolutely gorgeous and we were thrilled the Kims suggested it for their family photo session.

We had met Seann back when we lived in Chicago through a mutual friend (shout out Manu!) and when we saw that he had moved with his family to Tacoma around the same time as us we had to meet up. We absolutely adore his wife Hannah and fell in love with Charlotte, her personality is truly larger than life and makes us laugh. Charlotte just celebrated her first birthday and Hannah wanted to get an updated family picture for holiday cards. We met on a sunny, but chilly morning (rain was forecasted so when Hannah saw sun in the morning we moved we rushed to the beach to catch the good weather). Charlotte loved playing with her parents, especially anything in the air- swinging, being thrown up high, or hanging upside down. This allowed us to capture some great candid moments. Thanks Seann, Hannah, & Charlotte. We were so happy to be able to capture your family at the beach!

The coolest thing was that Charlotte was walking on her own confidently! She showed us her new skills again and again!

Thank you Kim family. We had so much fun, can’t wait to see the new house soon!

Gabrielle & Jörn – Oktoberfest Engagement | Leavenworth

Gabrielle and Jörn are the type of couple you want to be around to have a great time. They joke, they laugh, and they entertain. When we would tell them to chat with each other and ignore us, they did just that, making each other laugh and having private conversations (sometimes in German!). It was so easy to get Gabrielle cracking up and we absolutely love her smile! Jörn seems to be her rock, being there for her (literally moving to the USA), joking with her, and loving her.

We thought it was so awesome that when we started discussing engagement session locations they wanted to go to Leavenworth. We normally don’t travel that far for an hour session, BUT it happened to be Oktoberfest and we hadn’t been there before so a little coaxing with brats and pretzels and we were there! We loved all the alleys, fall colors, and old-style buildings of Leavenworth, not to mention the danish we treated ourselves to after the shoot.

You two are wonderfully adorable, fun-loving people. We had so much fun with you in Leavenworth and cannot wait for the fun to come with your wedding this summer!

Thank you Gabby & Jörn!

Katrin von Kehler - I Love you both!!!
